Residency: University of Louisville
Clinical interests: Trauma and medical education
Why UC San Diego? I chose UC San Diego because I wanted a very different trauma experience than my residency program. Our system is unique here — apart from having a model trauma system with five distinct catchment areas to a trauma bay completely separate from the emergency department and run by SICU nurses, the geographic location offers unique traumatic pathologies and patient populations, including patients injured crossing the border and aquatic trauma. I also sought a fellowship with solid research and mentorship opportunities.
What do you like about San Diego? San Diego is amazing. The weather is beautiful, it's sunny, there's an amazing food and brewery scene and you can go to the beach when you're post-call. I would choose to live here again in a heartbeat. -
