Division of Plastic Surgery Sub-Internship: Scholarship Program for Medical Students without a Home
Program Overview:
This program is a funded, in-person visiting subinternship position for four weeks in the Division of Plastic Surgery at UC San Diego in San Diego, CA for August/September 2025. This opportunity is reserved for a highly qualified applicant without a home plastic surgery program.

Funding will include up to $2,000 for housing, travel and meals.

The student will get to select a faculty member who will serve as a mentor and advisor.

The student will meet 1:1 with the plastic surgery program director and division chief.

The student will have the opportunity to speak with plastic surgery residents at the program prior to starting the rotation to discuss tips and advice for succeeding during the clerkship.

The student will receive an award upon completion of the clerkship.

The following Rotation Blocks are offered:
- BLOCK 1: Monday 5/11/26 - Sunday 6/7/26
- BLOCK 2: Monday 6/8/26 - Sunday 7/5/26
- BLOCK 3: Monday 7/6/26 - Sunday 8/2/26
- BLOCK 4: Monday 8/3/26 - Sunday 8/30/26
- BLOCK 5: Monday 8/31/26 - Sunday 9/27/26
Application Requirements:
Applicants for the funded sub-internship must be fourth-year medical students applying for integrated plastic surgery residency in Fall/Winter 2026 and be eligible for the 2027 Match. Any rising MS4 is welcome to apply.
Scholarship applications are due: March 20, 2026, and acceptances will be sent by April 30, 2026.
