Vascular Training Programs Salary and Benefits

Salary

Salary information is determined annually in accordance with UC San Diego Graduate Medical Education policies. Learn more about the current salary scales.

Vacation

Four weeks of paid vacation are offered per year. Additional leave for illness, family medical emergencies, or maternity/paternity may be taken according to written policy in the UC San Diego House Officer Policy and Procedure Document (HOPPD). 

Insurance Coverage

The University of California (UC) provides comprehensive health insurance for graduate medical education trainees. Learn more about the full suite of coverage.

Life Insurance

There is a life insurance plan for the resident or fellow physician provided by the university at no cost to the resident or fellow. Malpractice insurance is also provided by the university.

Uniforms

Lab coats and scrubs are provided to the resident or fellow at the time of initial appointment. Laundering services are provided for lab coats at no charge, and uniforms that deteriorate through normal wear and tear are replaced by the medical center. 

Resources

Residents and fellows have full access to UC San Diego and Veterans Affairs libraries. This includes access to all libraries on the UC San Diego campus with full off-site access. There is also full off-site access available via the internet. Residents and fellows also have access to the Center for the Future of Surgery simulation center.

Parking

Under University of California policy, anyone who parks at UC San Diego must pay a fee to help support construction, maintenance and administration of parking facilities. Learn more about UC San Diego parking permits.
