The City of San Diego

The city of San Diego offers many different activities, attractions, and unique festivals.

La Jolla

La Jolla is a scenic seaside Resort home to beautiful beaches, a vibrant downtown, the famous Torrey Pines Golf Course and Park and Scripps Pier.

Pacific Beach

A cultural and fun hangout for the locals. It is known for its pubs, restaurants and bars.

Gas Lamp

The Historic Gaslamp Quarter is a delight for locals and tourists alike. It has one of the best restaurants and bars and locals head out there for “serious” clubbing.

 

Balboa Park

Balboa Park is one of downtown San Diego’s attractions which boasts of 16 museums, restaurants, international houses, and beautiful parks. It also hosts the annual December Nights Festival which is a community event for families with beautiful music, international food and festive lights. It also is a hotspot for weddings!

San Diego Zoo

The World Famous San Diego Zoo is one of the largest, most progressive zoos in the world with over 4,000 animals of more than 800 species.

San Diego Wild Animal Park

The Wild Animal Park houses a large array of wild and endangered animals including species from the continents of Africa, Asia, Europe, North and South America, and Australia. The park is in a semi-arid environment, based around Nairobi village in Kenya, and one of its most notable features is the Journey into Africa tram which explores the expansive African exhibits. The park is also noted for its California condor breeding program, the most successful program in the country.

SeaWorld

SeaWorld San Diego is one of the world's premier marine adventure parks with 200 acres of world-class shows, thrilling rides, and unforgettable animal encounters.

San Diego Padres

The 2005 and 2006 National League Western Division Champions play at Petco Park in downtown San Diego. Tickets are affordable and offer a great night out.

 

San Diego Chargers

The champions of the AFC Western Conference in 2004, 2006, and 2007, the Chargers are one of the premier teams in the NFL with some of the most exciting players in the league. Their home is Qualcomm stadium located in the heart of San Diego.

 

Comic-Con

The biggest comic and movie convention in the world takes place annually at the San Diego Convention Center. Over 100,000 people showed up for the event in 2007.

Miscellaneous events

San Diego also has many fairs and events including the San Diego County Fair, world class horse racing at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, Street Scene in Downtown San Diego, an annual Chinese New Year Fair and Cinco De Mayo Festival, and various beach festivals.
