Terence Davidson, MD, began his career at UCSD in 1972 as a resident in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery. After a fellowship in Facial Plastic surgery with Dr. Richard Webster in Boston, Dr. Davidson returned to the full-time UCSD faculty in 1976. He served as the Chief of the Head and Neck Surgery Section at the San Diego Veterans Administration Medical Center and also as the Associate Dean of Continuing Medical Education at UCSD School of Medicine.
Dr. Davidson's interests in Otolaryngology were diverse and included numerous contributions to the field of Facial Plastic Surgery, Moh's surgery for head and neck cancer, Sinus Disorders and Nasal Dysfunction, Sleep Apnea and Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangectasias. His contributions to the scientific literature included 187 publications, one book, and 48 monographs and chapters. He particularly focused on producing educational videotapes on surgical techniques and produced over 180 tapes with various authorities in the specialty.
Dr. Davidson was a respected and dedicated teacher and greatly enjoyed his interactions with residents and medical students throughout his long career at UCSD.
